THE WESTERN SIDE OF ATLANTA FLOODED?

by

P1000389Yup, there was 6 deaths in this county, but no worries here, I was safe. I know how to swim. The above photo was a road hence the sign you’re about to see. Further down are the zoomed out pics.

These photos were taken in a neighborhood that I helped a family evade from.

P1000365So the water was coming up fast as shit. I’d say about a foot every 15-30 minutes or so.

P1000366

This was the family I helped move out. The water level here is also about an hour after the firefighters left and gave the speech about, “Look we gotta go, if you get fucked up and call 911, we’re not coming back so this is your final warning.” At this point in the photo we were abandoning ship. On another tip, I didn’t know these people, it was strange walking in their house under a time constraint and asking “OK, what do I need to load up?” They would look at me with bugged out eyes and say I don’t know. Shit, I wouldn’t know either.

The scene in the house before they left.

P1000375

The scene down the road.

P1000372

The poor bastards, what could they do except, fuck. . . crack a beer.

The next day things were more lively, the sun was out, fish were trying to swim across the interstate and there was absolutely no traffic, nice!

3 interstates were shut down.

P1000412

I was bullshitting about the traffic. It took 3-4 hours to go 15 miles.

P1000422

But seriously, walking down an empty interstate is one of the weirdest places I’ve ever been in my whole life. The other being on the top of a mountain in the middle of clouds with nothing but white all around me; you would only notice the clouds if you looked down and would see them zooming all around you. And the other one being at a cult rally and so on and so forth. There’s just something eerie about walking down the middle of a quite interstate with dead frogs everywhere.
